The Pittsburg Library’s Summer Reading Program is coming to an end. Please turn in all reading logs on or before this Friday, July 31st. We are so pleased at the participation and excitement over this program from children & adults. We are continuing to do what we need to do, to keep our staff and patrons safe.
Graveside services for Kenneth Richard Taft, 88, of Pittsburg were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Leesburg Cemetery. The Rev. Tommy Earl Burton, the pastor who introduced him to the UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) Sager Brown Depot, officiated. After Mr. Taft’s first mission trip to Sager-Brown, he was hooked. He made 10 trips to Baldwin, La. lending a hand to help pack and ship relief-supply kits around the world.
Leroy Duran, Jr., 57 of Pittsburg passed away Friday, July 24,2020 at The Hospice of East Texas Tyler. Mr. Duran was born February 24,1963 in Grants, New Mexico to Leroy Harold Duran and Eppie Lackey. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of the Catholic faith. He was also a member of the VFW post 5398 Pittsburg.
Fannie Lou Garrett, 86, formerly of Daingerfield passed away on Friday July 17, 2020 at Golden Creek Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Navasota Texas. Cremation services have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
