James Martin Morris, 57, of Pittsburg is behind bars after a fatal hit and run that occurred one mile south of FM 2088 in Upshur County on July 17 just after 11 a.m.
Veterinarian Jennifer Broers has broken ground on a new veterinary clinic set to open in early 2021. She calls the practice Piney Woods Animal Clinic. Broers has been preparing to build the clinic for over two years. It will be located at the intersection of State Highway 11 and Loop 179.

CASA of Titus, Camp, and Morris Counties is pleased to welcome Brenda Goth. Brenda took an oath before the Honorable Judge Saucier in Titus County Court on July 15, 2020. Mrs. Goth completed 30 hours of training and courtroom observation. Mrs. Goth is the newest CASA Volunteer who has accepted her first case and advocating for a child that is in the foster care system. CASA volunteers work for the best interest of the child/children making sure they have a safe, permanent home as quickly as possible. CASA volunteers are citizens in our community, just like you, that want to make a difference in a child/ children’s life while they are removed from their families and placed in foster care.
