Northeast Texas Community College will be closed for the Christmas and New Year holidays from Monday, Dec. 23rd through Friday, Jan. 3rd. Offices will resume normal business hours on Monday, Jan. 6th.
On Monday, December 16, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) awarded nearly $13-million in grant funding to Texas higher education institutions– $170k going to Northeast Texas Community college.
Three Pittsburg students were announced as winners of the VFW Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest. This year’s theme was My Voice in America’s Democracy. Hannah Sartain placed first and was awarded $100, Jazlynn Simmons placed second receiving $75, and Aaliyah Cochran placed third receiving a $50 award. The Teacher Award was given to Melody Wright.
Northeast Texas Community College will soon begin the search for its sixth president. Board Chairman Chuck Johns announced at the December meeting of the Board of Trustees that the search will be conducted in-house by the NTCC Human Resources department. The role will be posted, and applications accepted beginning January 6, 2025.
