PISD FFA places in Forestry

Pittsburg high school hosted the Area Six FFA Welding competition on Mar. 1, consisting of a total of 22 schools and 88 students represented.
Several PISD students participated in the Skills USA District 5 Competition in Waco on Feb. 25 and 26. Eight students from PHS placed high enough to earn the right to compete in the State Skills USA competition in Corpus Christi which will take place from Mar. 30 through April 4.
During the regular school board meeting on Feb. 28 Scott Henninger, assistant principal of the Primary School, presented this month’s Pirate Gold Awards to five ladies who are the “unsung heroes of our campus” and “have been ordained by God,” according to Henninger.
Several Pittsburg ISD students participated in the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo with their show pigs. Henninger had a Berkshire, Taylor and Landri Moore each had a Cross, and Brylie Moore had a Yorkshire.
