‘m ready for fall! Fall’s cozy atmosphere and changing weather make it a solid candidate for the best season. Temperatures are finally starting to cool down, and the days are becoming shorter and shorter. Leaves are changing color and falling off the trees, and pumpkin-spice-flavored products are back on the shelf. Come get a book or two to cozy up with!

Henderson Manufacturing Company

Henderson Manufacturing Company

The Henderson Manufacturing Company began with an idea for an invention called the hydrajuster developed by Bill Henderson. Gazette records say that with no cash and a lathe he bought on credit, Henderson built his invention which, in 1945, was classified as standard army equipment for the Canadian and U.S. Armies. A type of hydraulic jack, the hydrajuster was used to change caterpillar treads on bulldozers, tanks, and other heavy equipment, and has been used around the world.

A lasting legacy

A lasting legacy

Last week, hubby called me sobbing. In 34 years, he’s only cried three times, so I knew something was terribly wrong. Our good friend of 20+ years had just died from a battle with leukemia. At this point, hearing Cary, I started crying, too. I’ve attended a lot of services in my lifetime … church services, wedding services, and, all too often lately, funeral services. The common denominator for all of them is that I cry – crying comes easy to me.
