TextSaturday night’s ball was a gala affair with dancing lights, swirling gowns, and tapping feet. All the young princesses seemed to enjoy themselves as they swayed the night away to the music—an expert mix of disco and pop supplied by Mark Levy’s Pink Flamingo Sound.
The Pirate/Lady Pirate Cross Country teams competed on Saturday in multiple locations. Varsity Girls Cross Country finished fifth at the George Ritchley Invitational in Grand Prairie, while the Varsity Boys Cross Country finished third. JV Girls, JV Boys, and Junior High Boys, finished as meet champions at Hughes Springs, and Junior High Girls finished in second place at Hughes Springs.
The Lady Pirate JV White Volleyball team competed at the Paul Pewitt tournament this weekend and came away in first place as the tournament champions. They beat Daingerfield in 2 sets (25-18, 25-19), New Boston in 2 sets (26-24, 25-20), and took Harts Bluff in 3 sets (18-25, 25-15, 16-14). Coach Eudy said “she was very proud of how hard the girls fought, never gave up and showed their GLP SPIRIT”. The Lady Pirate High School Volleyball teams won over Winona on September 6, and the 7th Grade B Volleyball team scored the win on September 8 over Pleasant Grove.
