Michael P. “Mike” Setty started working for the City of Pittsburg in 1978 as city attorney. Though the city had previously worked with an attorney from Mt. Pleasant, it was preferred to find someone more local if that were possible.

On July 3, 2020, at approximately 5:10 p.m., five people were killed in a traffic accident on U.S. Highway 271 north when the driver of a northbound 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe lost control and collided with a southbound 2013 Nissan Quest. A heavy rainstorm was in the area at the time of the crash, and the Chevrolet hydroplaned, crossing into the southbound lanes where it hit the Nissan.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in downtown Pittsburg. The music is already chiming, wreaths decorate the windows and store fronts, lighted garlands grace the lampposts, and the new lights twinkle along the tops of the buildings.
