Crockett Resource Center for Independent Living’s (CRCIL) Independent Living (IL) Services Program helps people with disabilities achieve greater independence in the home and community. Graveside services for Laverne Carpenter Strube, 95, of Pittsburg will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Matinburg Cemetery with Chaplin Yanckton Hatten officiating. Interment will be in the Matinburg Cemetery in Camp County. Arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home. Mrs. Strube passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022, in a Pittsburg nursing home.
An arctic blast swept across much of the U.S. over the holiday weekend, with Pittsburg experiencing a low of eight degrees Friday morning with a wind chill of negative nine. A little snow fell on Thursday but didn’t stick.
