Yes Virginia, Trees Talk to Each Other

Yes Virginia, Trees Talk to Each Other

I’m not sure when scientists learned that plants can talk, but it definitely opened up a new world to them. Corn, for example, when attacked by a corn earworm, begins talking via a chemical aroma telling other corn plants they are in trouble. All within range begin sending aromas to attract enemies of the pest. Additionally, the affect plant’s roots begin clicking or popping (extremely low frequency) by bursting cells telling other roots it’s under attack. Other plants in range then begin clicking.
