Howard Raymond Loftis, 88, of Pittsburg met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face on May 3, 2022 with his loving family by his side. Mr. Loftis was born February 27, 1934 in Simpsonville to the late Edd and Minnie Lee Powell Loftis. Howard married Patsy “Pat” Carpenter on June 25, 1955 and they shared 57 years together until her passing in 2012. He was retired from Pilgrim’s Pride where he worked for 43 years and was also a member of Eaves Tabernacle Baptist Church. Howard always had a big garden and loved to share fresh vegetables with his friends and neighbors over the years. He loved playing dominoes with his buddies, had a good eye for classic cars, and was most definitely quite the jokester. He got so much joy out of telling jokes and laughing with his friends and family.

Mrs. Annie Ruth Drew, known to most as Mrs. Ruth, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 in Pittsburg at the age of 99. Mrs. Ruth was born November 5, 1922 to Elvie and Dollie Martin Carpenter in Camp County. She lived most of her life in Camp County.

Sam Veasley, Jr. passed away on April 24, 2022 at his home in Pittsburg at the age of 92. His funeral service will be Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, Pittsburg, with Rev. B. R. Hargest as eulogist and burial will be at Union Chapel Cemetery, Pittsburg, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
