Local volunteers blessed by helping others
A tree fell across a local senior’s front porch, blocking thesenior’saccess. DavidHerron,65,sustainedonly a surface wound from the falling tree but access to his front door was completely blocked. Mr. Herron came to God’s Closet and asked for help clearing the tree.
PISD Cross Country takes the honors
The Pittsburg ISD Cross Country teams excelled on September 1 and 3 during the third annual Troy Segura Classic.
Senior robbed, then helped by Good Samaritan
Glen Roney, a disabled senior, was recently the victim of a burglar. Because of an old wheelchair ramp in front of his house, Roney had to leave his power scooter outside his home at the foot of the ramp. It was apparently enticing to an unknown person who took advantage of Roney’s position and stole the power scooter.
Fundraising with flags
Camp County Christmas for Kids is once again ramping up efforts to provide a special Christmas for all the children in the county who might otherwise have a less-than-magical December 25th. Starting several months beforehand, the volunteers of this non-profit organization begins fundraising and collecting donations in preparation for their distribution day in December.
