Tim Lowery from KPit 91.7 FM Radio spoke to the Club about the new christian radio station broadcasting in our area. His goal was to bring the community together by covering the airways with Christ. He said he was in Pittsburg about a year ago and met Alethea Mcgaha with God’s Closet, which led him to buying the radio station. The station covers a wide area of northeast Texas from Sulphur Springs almost to Texarkana and south to Gilmer. The station is a non-profit, therefore they do not have paid commercials. They rely on donors. They can do ads for other non-profit organizations. He is inviting local pastors to speak on his station. He covered the Christmas parade along with Alethea. He wants to do more community events.
On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 12:00 pm, in the Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church, Pittsburg, the Rotary Club held their President Bill Dixon introduced Dr. Waleed Chaudhary, new family practice physician at UT Health East Texas Physicians Clinic, Pittsburg. Dr. Chaudhary, an Oklahoma native, says that his “family medicine practice focuses on the long game for family health. Prevention works best before symptoms show up. Make annual wellness visits a habit”. Emily Marks, of Shipitt, in Pittsburg, is also a 4H Mom who brought her two sons, Wade and Westin, to talk about the Camp County Youth Project Show and Buyers Appreciation Dinner on Saturday, March 7. The show would begin at 10 am and the auction dinner at 5:30 pm. The 60 plus members provided 53 exhibitors, including art works, photography, beef, chickens, goats, lambs, pigs, rabbits, ag mechanics, and baking competitions. Last year the auction brought in about $30,000, and with donations and addons, they made over $100,000. This year they anticipated $120,000. Bill Dixon thanked everyone for coming and asked that they bring a friend with them next week.
