Council explores investment opportunities
The Pittsburg City Council held its regular meeting for the month of December. A major item on the agenda was to discuss applications for participation in the Local Government Investment Cooperative (LOGIC) Trust and in the Texas Short Term Asset Reserve Program (TexSTAR). David Shechtman who works in the Asset Management Department with Hilltop Securities presented the terms of this application to the council.
FUMC hosts Carols in the Park
First United Methodist Church of Pittsburg welcomed the public to its tradition of Carols in the Park. Every other year, the church displays dozens of Christmas trees, each one representing a different Christmas carol. After being unable to host the event last year, FUMC was delighted to once again showcase their unique Christmas trees for two weekends this December.
Pittsburg’s Abron steps down as athletic director/head football coach
The Pittsburg Independent School District will begin looking for a new athletic director and head football coach after Triston Abron announced last week that he is stepping down from his position at Pittsburg High School.
