Funeral services for Margaret Beggs Jackson, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg. Visitation was held before the service at 9 a.m. at the church. Republicans Hear RAIR
Dan O’Shea, President of the Republican Club, opened the Saturday, March 20, 2026 meeting at 9:00 am at the NTCC Pittsburg campus meeting room, with the announcement that the Republican Convention will be held at the Living Water Church on Loop 179 at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 28.
Deborah Ann (Debbie) Knox
Born in Mount Pleasant on March 13, 1954, Deborah Ann (Debbie) Floyd was born to Millard Ira (Speedy) and Ruth Mayben Floyd. She attended Mount Pleasant schools until six weeks into her freshman year and she moved to Marshall, graduating from MHS in 1972. She then moved to Tyler where she attended Tyler Junior College and Tyler State College, now known as the University of Texas at Tyler. She said she majored in having fun.
Democrats Choose Delegates
The 2026 Camp County Democratic Convention met on Saturday, March 21, at the Douglass Alumni Community Center, at 10:00 am, to choose the delegates to the State Democratic Convention scheduled for June 25 to 27, in Corpus Christi. The Camp County delegates to the State Convention are Phyllis Parnell, Jaye Cuthbertson-McDade, Heather Harrel, and Kathy Spayde.
