Last week, the Pittsburg Rotary Club held a special meeting welcoming Rotary Vice Governor Tom DeWitt. At the meeting, 16 Rotarians were recognized for Paul Harris Fellows. These awards are given to Rotarians who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation.
On Monday, Jan 27, the Pittsburg ISD School Board discussed hiring a new athletic director/head football coach. The board unanimously voted to hire John Huffstetler to this position.
Previously reported in the Gazette, Pittsburg lost two inspiring members of the community in a tragic car accident. Charles “Chuck” and Sarah Johns were examples of service, commitment, and care. Their names will be remembered with respect and admiration by many.
