On Wednesday, July 30, the Mount Pleasant Economic Development Corporation (EDC) announced that Titus County will become home to the first zero-landfill aluminum facility in the nation, being brought to life by the Aluminz Corporation.
The Pittsburg Rotary Club recently had the opportunity to hear from John Huffstetler, the athletic director for Pittsburg Independent School District. Huffstetler has been the athletic director and head football coach since he was hired in February earlier this year.
On July 31, the Pittsburg Fire Department served free snow cones to the public. Those present were able to get to know more about the firefighters who protect the community.
The Camp County Commissioners held their regular meeting on July 23 and heard from Connie Bradshaw with the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce. Bradshaw presented to the commissioners seeking approval for use of the Camp County Courthouse lawn and parking spaces during the upcoming Pioneer Days. She shares there are plans to close streets surrounding the courthouse on Friday, Sept 19 from 4 p.m. until midnight on Saturday, Sept 20.
