Noise. It’s everywhere. I look at my social news feed, and the posts shout with opinions. I have one. I plan to post my response. And if I’m not careful, I make more noise. So I decided not to post it. And yes, I’m challenged not to become a part of the noise.
In a recent column, one of my co-workers wrote about being tired. It was a good piece, and she was right on the money. Toni’s thoughts made me think. Then, I heard a similar train of thought from my pastor, and it spurred me to write these words.
At the store, I made my way through the produce department and came to shelves with containers of strawberries, grapes, mango, and cantaloupe. I grabbed seven cold, yummy packages of fruit and some cold water in another aisle. I added a few cold Gatorades from the front coolers too.
There are those who say that sending prayers is not enough. Social media emojis are not enough. There are those who will make it a political issue and rail about gun control. There are those who will say that every school in our country should have policemen and metal detectors. And, there are those who will disagree with me and call me simplistic.
