For at least 100 years, Camp County was known for its peaches. At one time there were 25 peach orchards in the surrounding area, and in the late 1800’s, 40,000 peach trees were purchased in a tenday period.

I met an interesting man today. As we spoke, he explained that he and his wife both serve as CASA volunteers. CASA stands for “Court Appointed Special Advocate.” They have been appointed by the court to supervise and monitor foster families.

Five years ago, she gave me a teeny binder with the notes she’d penned. I had forgotten what she scribbled, only to unearth the pad this week. I reread it, pondered the meaning, and dissected the thoughts recorded in ink.
