Moles: Moles are insectivores that primarily eat insects, worms, and grubs. When they tunnel through your yard they are trying to eliminate the extra protein throughout your garden. Unfortunately, their assistance is less than negligible when they destroy the garden along with the insects.
Pittsburg high school competed in the Regionals Cross Country Meet at Grand Prairie on Oct. 25. The boys team finished in 13th place with Jacob Berryhill, 11th grade, placing sixth at 16:31.6. Americans across the United States will take time on Nov. 11 to honor veterans from each branch of the United States Military. Several area schools will hold Veteran’s Day programs in commemoration of the service given by veterans and their families.
The Wall That Heals, a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans memorial with a mobile Education Center is coming to Sulphur Springs Nov. 4-7.
Pittsburg Main Street was lined with children dressed in the best Halloween costumes they could find. Several local businesses offered candy and chocolates as the kids lined up with bags almost as large as themselves. Mickey Mouse (Kade) nearly danced in his excitement. See more photos on page 10.
