Emergency SNAP benefits again extended
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is again extending emergency food benefits this month, with more than $307 million in emergency allocations expected to help more than 1.5 million Texas households.
Criminal Justice and Homeland Security Grant Funding Available for East Texas Region
Local governments, independent school districts, colleges, universities, non-profit organizations, and state agencies can now apply for grant funds from the Governor’s Office, Criminal Justice Division, and Homeland Security Program. New and continuing applicants in the East Texas Council Of Government’s (ETCOG) fourteen (14) county region are invited to attend free grant application workshops hosted by the ETCOG Public Safety division. Training for both the Criminal Justice Division and the Homeland Security Program will be held virtually. The workshops are as follows:

Texas Brand Registration
All County Livestock Brand registrations in Texas expired on August 31, 2021. The renewal period for re-registration is currently open and remains open through February 28, 2022. Following February 28, within each individual county, any previously registered brands that were not re-registered become available to be registered by someone else.
