Commission makes plans for Shelby historical marker
The Camp County Historical Commission is proceeding with plans to submit a request to the state of Texas to erect a historical marker near the gravesite of Carroll Hall Shelby in the Leesburg cemetery. While the county has recognized Shelby as an important part of its history, and the Northeast Texas Community College proudly operates the Carroll Shelby Automotive training facility, no historical marker has been dedicated to the internationally known car racer and race car builder in Camp County.
