As cooking teams get prepared and the talent lineup continues to grow, organizers are gearing up for the return of the Texas Hot Link Festival in downtown Pittsburg set for Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

On April 20, a driver lost control of his F350 blue pickup on FM 557, swerved across the opposing lane and, turning completely around, flipped over about six miles east of Pittsburg. All passengers, including the driver’s three young grandchildren and grandbaby, escaped with some scratches, bruises, and a not-to-be-forgotten experience. Local residents who saw the accident were on the scene immediately to rescue the victims of the wreck and direct traffic until after EMS arrived.

Pittsburg rush-hour traffic was held up and rerouted for several hours after a freight train experienced at least three breaks along the line while passing through town. Freight cars decoupled in three different spots, and it was necessary to install new equipment parts before the train could move and reopen the roads.
