State Loop 255 has been under construction for roughly one year, and still has another year to go according to the Texas Department of Transportation. R&G Construction was awarded the contract for $5.6 million, and construction began in the summer of 2021.
Ferndale Club had the pleasure of watching a juvenile Bald Eagle being released in front of them on July 4. Though an eagle being released may take several minutes to get out of its carrier and take flight, Liberty exited almost immediately and took wing, launching over the edge of the lake and through the trees without looking back.
A reception was held at Cypress Bank on June 28 in honor of Jan Branch as she retires after 41 years of dedicated service to the bank, the town, and the community. Many people whom she has helped and known over the years came to offer their congratulations to this lady of whom a coworker said “She has helped more people than would fit in this room.”
