TEXAS – The 5th Annual Judicial Summit on Mental Health, hosted by the Judicial Commission on Mental Health—a joint commission under the Supreme Court of Texas and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals—will be held November 2-4, 2022, at the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas.
Sheriff Cortelyou was the guest speaker for the Camp County Republican Party on July 16. Speaking on Second Amendment issues, he discussed some of the recent federal gun laws specifically as they relate to Texans. Sheriff Cortelyou said that Texas has no “Red Flag Laws” and stated, “I don’t think they will.”
The Frederick Douglass Alumni Association is preparing to celebrate their 23rd Grand Reunion on July 29-31. This reunion takes place only every two years, and was begun in 1976. A focal point of the celebration this year will be the honoring of veterans in Camp County. An informal meet and greet will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 29, in order to thank veterans and hear their stories.
