Habitat for Humanity presents to the Lions Club

Linda Baxter from Habitat for Humanity of Camp County presented to the Pittsburg Lions Club this week. Linda spoke about the organization’s principles and goals and the need for volunteers to help with building ramps and other service projects. Volunteer skills are needed ranging anywhere from swinging a hammer to making sandwiches for volunteers. The Pittsburg Lions Club will be meeting henceforth every Thursday at The Pizza House located at 1000 N. Greer BLVD, Pittsburg.

New Marker for Carroll Shelby

The Texas Historical Commission (THC) has notified Ned Muse, Chairman, Camp County Historical Commission and County Judge AJ Mason that the Commission has reviewed the Camp County Historical Commission’s application for a Texas Historical Marker recognizing the historic accomplishments of Camp County native Carroll Hall Shelby as a driver, developer, and automotive entrepreneur. The THC is now awaiting the payment of the state fee for the marker and will then prepare the narrative for the marker inscription and have the marker cast.
