PHS welding student takes second place
The Pittsburg High School welding team competed against 25 schools and 300 students at the 10th Annual Cypress Ridge FFA Welding Contest. Sevear of the schools against which they competed were much larger including Temple, Pasadena, Huntsville, Galena Park, Fort Bend, Cleveland, and Alief.

Princess ball entertains children to support children
Several little princesses were delightfully entertained during a Fairy Dust Princess Ball on January 27 and 28. Disney princesses came and visited them at the Civic Center in Mount Pleasant, pouring tea and offering the little ladies cookies and an opportunity to dance with a Disney princess. The ladies were also offered the opportunity to have their hair done up, and go to a “salon” just for them.
Local student captures win at Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo
Emma Allen of Leesburg, TX captured Reserve Champion Heifer Brown Swiss with Oak View Carter Tia at the 2023 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo on January 17. The 2023 Show is hosting junior exhibitors from across Texas competing for awards and more than $34,300 in Junior Dairy Cattle Show premiums.
