The Pittsburg Rotary Club celebrated their 100th anniversary on June 10, 2023, having begun this oldest service club still serving the people of Camp County on December 27, 1923.
First Presbyterian Church celebrates 140 years in Pittsburg
The First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburg will be celebrating their 140th anniversary with a special service at 9 a.m., followed by a barbecue brunch on June 18. Representative of Grace Presbytery in Fort Worth and lay minister Jimmy Chapman of Henderson will offer the service. Everyone is welcome to attend. Having never celebrated the church’s milestones, it was decided that 140 is quite a number, and something really ought to be done about it.
Carolyn Franks meets longlost relative in Australia
Not everyone finds a long-lost relative in Melbourne, Australia two months before they are scheduled to attend a Rotary International Conference in “Melbs”, but Carolyn Franks had this unusual development in her family in the past few months.
Getting ready for summer
Woodland Harbor (POA), Cary John Efurd Ministries, and Unity in the Community joined together for Spring Clean Up Day at Woodland Harbor subdivision on June 3. A fun day of work, gathering, and food after the clean up made for time of building relationships. Many mothers, dads, children and neighbors participated in filling three large dumpsters with metal, trash, and debris.
