The journey for Andrew Pack, 48, began at birth when he was diagnosed with a congenital heart disease. His first pacemaker was installed in 1980 when he was in kindergarten or first grade, and he had his first heart attack at 17. He has been through multiple pacemakers, including an incident in 2015 when he traveled to Dallas for a heart evaluation and developed a staph infection.
Pittsburg volunteers build for Mobility Worldwide
A team of thirteen volunteers from First United Methodist Church of Pittsburg traveled to Bryan, Texas to work in the Mobility Worldwide Shop where they make carts for people lacking use of their legs.
Pittsburg Club raises $900 for The Longest Day
The Pittsburg Duplicate Bridge Club (PDBC) had a “terrific turnout” on June 20 as they played to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association. Roughly 10 years ago, the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) and the Alzheimer’s Association formed a partnership for the purpose of fighting this disease. During these past 10 years, ACBL clubs have raised approximately $8.8 million to support caregivers Each June, ACBL clubs are encouraged to raise money for Alzheimer’s Association. This year, clubs held games specifically to support this endeavor between June 18 - 24.
