CASA gains new volunteers

CASA gains new volunteers

CASA of Titus, Camp, and Morris Counties is pleased to welcome Sharon Jones and Jenni Harwood. Sharon and Jenni took an oath before the Honorable Judge Rolston in Titus County on September 1, 2020. Sharon and Jenni completed 30 hours of training and courtroom observation. Jenni is the newest Coach Advisor and Sharon is the newest CASA Volunteer who has accepted her first case and is advocating for children that are in the foster care system. CASA volunteers work for the best interest of the child/children making sure they have a safe, permanent home as quickly as possible. CASA volunteers are citizens in our community, just like you, that want to make a difference in a child/children’s life while they are removed from their families and placed in foster care. If you want to make a difference in a child’s life contact Krystal Hosmer at 903-717-8940 or visit becomeacasa.org or www.casatcm.org. COURTESY PHOTO

Pittsburg Lions are Roaring

Pittsburg Lions are roaring as we have some exciting things going on. We recently added a Membership Chairperson to our board. This has been a vacant position for quite a while. But last year we were fortunate enough to have an amazing woman with many talents join our club, Shannel Newton, and now Shannel will be filling the position of Membership Chairperson. Shannel is the Founder of In Demand Corporation, CEO of Expectant Heart Pregnancy Resource Center, and mother of four children. She is a serial entrepreneur, business consultant, doula, motivational speaker and life coach, philanthropist, and author. We are excited to have Shannel bring us some new ideas about how we can grow our membership in this challenging time that we live in. Growing membership results in a greater service reach in our community. Welcome Shannel! Roar….
