Bob Sandlin — GOOD. Water lightly stained; 85 degrees; 0.22’ high. Black bass are good on jigs, senkos, crankbaits and plastic worms in 8-15’ near brushy coves, rocky shorelines, and docks. Plastic frogs and topwater plugs are still working early in 2-6’ in or near grass lines, and lily pads Crappie are good on jigs and minnows in brush piles and standing timber. Catfish are excellent on earthworms, live bait, and blood bait in 4-12’.

In my preteen years, I used to sit in a persimmon tree (Diospyros kaki) eating the fruit, which is very sweet when ripe. I later gave up the practice after eating some of the not-yet-ripe fruit which is almost unbelievably bad! The difference between ripe and unripe is that until the entire persimmon softens to a jelly-like texture, it isn’t ripe!
The East Texas Junior Golf Tour (ETJGT) headed to Princedale Country Club in Pittsburg Thursday. The day had ideal conditions: eighty-degree weather, a few clouds, and a small breeze.
