If you’re reading this, on January 5th, I will have celebrated yet, another birthday. And with each year, I’m reminded that I was the only child in the first five minutes of my life. Then my twin sister showed up with the loudest cry, and she shattered my ears with love beyond anything I could have imagined. Yes, the Lord introduced me to my twin, Melody.
“Why did God lie to me?” said the heartbroken mother. “Doesn’t God promise in the book of Proverbs, ‘Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not turn from it?’” (Proverb 22:6).
The Pittsburg Pirate basketball team finished second overall at the Quitman Tournament last week. The Pirates defeated Quitman in the semifinals, 54-25, but fell in the title game against Mabank, 35-28. The Pirates had three players named to the All-Tournament team: Rickey “Pooh” Duffey, Dalton Fields and A’Myrion Gholston. Two days after a second place finish at the Quitman Tournament, the PIttsburg Pirates closed 2021 at home on the court at Jack Arnwine Gymnasium by taking on the Daingerfield Tigers.
