The Last Decision

The last decision you made was to read this article. That’s how simple it is to follow Christ. Make the decision to follow Him, and you will. Following Him means to think good thoughts about yourself. Think the same way He does toward us. It means to turn your hearts toward Him and have your spiritual eyes focused on His ways.

The speed of light yardwork

The speed of light yardwork

According to my own personal analogy of Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity, a person who is out mowing the front yard at an infinitesimal fraction of the speed of light still ages slower than a person snacking on a couch while watching reruns of “Leave it to Beaver,” but only when both people are observed by a third person standing in the kitchen trying to hand wash dishes without being too glum about the broken dishwasher which still hasn’t been repaired yet.

Tidbits of NE Texas

Ebenezer (Ebb) and Martha Bolton settled in this area in the 1850s. They established an extensive plantation and owned a number of slaves before the Civil War. Following Ebb Bolton’s death in 1877, his widow made arrangements to provide land to their former slaves. This cemetery, which began in 1861 upon the death of Martha Bolton’s mother, Rebecca Durley, became a part of the Bolton community, a Freedmen’s town which built up in the area. Both Ebb and Martha Bolton are interred here, as are many of the former slaves and their descendants. –Historical Marker #9787
