Wilabay

Charles Ray Wilabay, 83, of Pittsburg, died Saturday, June 8, 2019, at his residence. A memorial service for Wilabay will be held by the family at a later date when he is laid to rest a Macedonia Cemetery.

Wilabay was born March 3, 1936, in Hawkins to Wayne Bascal and Lucy Lee Moon Wilabay. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, retired from Red River Army Depot and was a member of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his son, David Ray Wilabay and wife, Cathy of Tyler; daughters, Tina Marie Dewberry of Pittsburg and Helen Nanette Wilabay-Henry and husband, James of Pittsburg; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Patsy Ann Davis, Gayla Sue Merritt and Belinda Gail Raney; and the mother of his children, Mary Lois Garrett-Wilabay.

Wilabay is preceded in death by his father and mother; step-mother, Stella Mae Wilabay; brother, Billy Wayne Willaby; son, Jody Wayne Wilabay and granddaughter Heather Renae Wilabay.

He will be remembered as an amazing father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
