Virginia Hunter

Virginia Nell Hunter, or Ginger to her family and friends, a beloved mother, memaw, sister, and friend, passed away on Mother’s Day of 2023. She leaves behind a legacy of love, fun, family, compassion, and unwavering strength. Ginger was a light to those around her and was a face you wanted to be around because of her joy.

Born on February 4, 1950, Ginger was raised with values of kindness and work ethic. Her thirst for knowledge led her to excel academically, earning her degree in Psychology when she went back to school in 1992 at the age of 42.

She was a devoted wife to John Ray Geary II, mother to John Ray Geary III and Stacy Danelle Miller and a cherished grandmother to John Ray Geary IV, Braeden Wade Miller and Jacob David Miller. Ginger was also a loved mother in law to Cheyenne Rose Geary and David Paul Miller. She was blessed to have found love again after her first husband passed and leaves behind Robert Gwilt. Ginger’s dedication to family was matched by her devotion to her church, Emmanuel Baptist of Pittsburg where she sang, was a member of the choir and a quartet and also volunteers in the children’s and teens department. Her adventurous spirit, love for the Lord and zest for life inspiring all who knew her.

While we mourn Ginger’s passing, her spirit will forever live on. Her legacy of love, resilience, and service will guide us through difficult times. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing she touched the lives of everyone she met.

The family would love to invite you to a memorial to laugh and share stories of this wonderful person on Sunday, June 4th from 2 to 4 at Clarksville Housing Authority at 700 S Delaware St, Clarksville, TX 75246.
