Mrs. Millie Jean Thurman, 91, of Mineola, died Sunday, June 23, 2019 in Mineola. She was born on March 20, 1928 in Pittsburg, Texas to the late Jemmie Lee Rape and Vinnie Mae Landers Rape. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a mother, homemaker and retired salesperson,

Mrs. Thurman was preceded in death by parents; husband, Jack L. Thurman in 1989; and sister, Virginia Rape Gunn in 2002.

She is survived by her sons, Richard J. Thurman of Mineola, Glen Thurman and wife Pam of Mineola, David L. Thurman and wife Donna of Mineola; daughter, Vici S. Houton and husband Jim of Mineola; stepdaughter, Patricia Wood and husband James of Fort Worth; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; nephew, Greg Gunn and wife Kelly; and niece, Janet Gunn Pennington and husband Joe.

Visitation was held Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola. Funeral Services were held Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Beaty Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Bro. Ben Steen officiating. Interment followed at Cedar Memorial Gardens in Mineola, with Adam Thurman, Daniel Weatherford, Lloyd Weatherford, Justin Clayburn, Jason Caston and Jerrod Clayburn. serving as pallbearers.
