Sheryl Runividge Ellis

Sheryl Runividge Ellis, 73, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on February 5th, 2022. She was born in Hobart, Oklahoma on September 2nd, 1948. Sheryl graduated from Altus High School, attended TCU, and received degrees in Ballet and Theatre. She also obtained a degree in English and Education from the University of North Texas.

Sheryl married John Cason Ellis on September 5th, 1970. She had a career in Arts and Education and worked for

Greenhill School for 25 years and helped establish the school’s renowned Theatre Department.

Always an advocate for the Arts and giving back, she went on to work at Pat Summerall Productions, Music in Motion, Pearson Education and The Salvation Army.

She was a member of the American Alliance for Theatre and Education. She had a passion for musical theatre, dancing, teaching, gardening, ranching and her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lily Deen Runividge. She is survived by her husband John and daughters Meredith Ellis and Emily Ellis.

Sheryl was truly one of a kind. Her positive energy, contagious smile and encouraging spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

The visitation was held at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home on Mon day, February 21, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

The Mass of Christian Burial was held at All Saints Catholic Church, Dallas, on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 1:00pm, Fr. Garrett Bockman Celebrant. Interment Rose Cemetery, Hobart, Oklahoma, Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Salvation Army of North Texas or to The National Pancreas Association are greatly appreciated.
