Sharon Lynn Cooper

Sharon Lynn Cooper Smith of Pittsburg was born September 11, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Albert Braun Cooper and Adelle Ruth Womack Cooper, and passed away at her home on September 16, 2023.

Sharon earned her bachelor’s degree from East Texas State University, then dedicated many years of her life serving the community as an Elementary school teacher. Sharon and her late husband, Albert Hugh Smith, owned and operated East Texas Peach and Berry Farm in Pittsburg, Texas, where they proudly taught their grandchildren the valuable benefit of good work ethics. She was also a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her sons and daughtersin- law, Stephen and Edith Smith of Burlington, Kansas, and David and Amy Smith of Pittsburg; grandchildren, Kristina and Josh Jaycox, Marshall Smith, Dawn Kennington and husband, Harold, Derick Smith, Hollie Cook and husband, Colton, Megan Harrison and husband, Tate, and Shawn Crouch and wife, Brenna; great-grandchildren, Andrea Jaycox, Lillian Jaycox, Jasmine Jaycox, Avery Crouch, Anderson Crouch, Cooper Kennington, Causey Kennington, Jo Grace Cook, Madilyn Cook, and McKinley Harrison; brothers, Kenneth Cooper and wife, Kim, of Pittsburg, and Ronald Cooper and wife, Donna, of Palestine; and her dear friend, Betty Yocum of Gilmer.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Dawn Michelle Smith.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 22, 2023, at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Crossroads Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Bro. Johnny Simmons and Bro. Greg Miller will be officiating, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
