Earl Richardson Jr., 95, of Pittsburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019 in Pittsburg. Richardson was born May 4, 1924 in Pittsburg to Earl Richardson, Sr. and Dora Mae Keeling Richardson. He graduated from Pittsburg High School, attended Kilgore College and then went on to graduate from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He served in the U.S. Army where he was in the Signal Corps during WWII. He retired from the Texas Department of Transportation where he worked for 42 years as a civil engineer.

Richardson is survived by his daughter, Nan Richardson of Pittsburg, and his loving caregivers Sherrie Cromer, Earl Dean Brooks, Lanell Cavender, and Lucas Ashcraft.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Joy Patton Richardson, his parents, and two brothers, Truman Richardson and Rev. Charles Richardson.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 30, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg. Burial was in Blevins Cemetery in Morris County. A visitation was held Thursday Aug. 29, 2019 at the Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
