Paula Kay Davis

Paula Kay Davis, 71, of Little Elm and Pittsburg, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2023. She was surrounded by loving family at the time of her passing after a long battle with Lupus, cancer, and COVID-19. A requiem mass will be held at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Flower Mound on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 11 a.m. The family invites any who wishes to celebrate her life to join them for the service.

Paula was born on December 14, 1951, to Glynn and LaVerne Davis. She considered her nieces and nephews her children and loved visits and sleepovers with them in their childhood and visiting with them as they became adults. Paula could regularly be found laughing at game nights with family and friends when she wasn’t cheering on her favorite sports teams, particularly the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.

Paula was also a loving and devoted member of the Catholic church. She was a long-standing member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Frisco and participated as an RCIA team member for many years. Welcoming others into the church was Paula’s vocation, and she received Last Rites before her passing.

Paula worked as a software administrator for most of her career and retired from the University of North Texas in December of 2018.

Paula is survived by her sisters and their husbands, Cindy and Vince Dumas, Melinda and Joe Jones. Five nieces and nephews and their spouses: Kelly and Wes Heide, Holly Chapa, Alec Dumas, Drew Dumas and Frances Gordon, and Ezelea Dumas. Six great nieces and nephews: Carson McNutt and Adam Amburn, Ray McNutt, Anna Heide, Ella Heide, Julia Chapa, and Jackson Heide, and her great-great niece, Emmersyn Amburn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glynn and LaVerne Davis.
