Paul David Nelson

Paul David Nelson, age 82, of Leesburg went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at his home while surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 23, 1939, to E.C. and Bessie Nelson of Camp County.

Paul went to school in Pittsburg and moved to Dallas in 1957, where he met his wife, Frances, and started his family. He worked at Frozen Rite Products for 7 years and 3M Company in Dallas, retiring after 33 years. After retirement, he returned to the Nelson family land in East Texas. Paul loved everything about Kountry living and worked hard at everything he did. He was an honest and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and loved his family fiercely. Paul was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Frances Nelson; children, son Troy Nelson and wife Kay, daughter Subreana Bach, daughter Stacey Cooley and husband Daryll, son Trevor Nelson and wife Naoko; grandchildren, Jamie Willis and husband Bubba, Chase Cooley and wife Tyle, Kellie Nelson, Dustin Curry and wife Megan, Maddie Cooley and Ryan Stegall, Desiree Brewer and husband Jordan, D.J. Curry, Micki Nelson, Kai Nelson, and Yako Hirano, Tak Nelson, Mei Nelson; and great-grandchildren, Kenzie, Bryce, Juliana, Aiden, Sadie, Elijah, Stella, Knox, Caleb, Shep d Sloan.herd, Crew, and Sloan.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, David Wayne Nelson; brother, Arvil Nelson; sisters, Annie Barber and Geneva Houston.

The funeral service will be Monday, June 20, 2022, at Piney Grove Baptist Church at 10:00 AM. Visitation will start at 9:00 AM. Internment will follow at Piney Grove Cemetery.
