Joyce Hargrove Caldwell

Joyce Hargrove Caldwell passed away on January 7, 2023. She was born on November 24, 1932 to Janet Blair and William c. Hargrove in Pittsburg, Texas. Joyce received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Woman’s University and a Master of Education degree from East Texas State University. She was a Registered Dietician for the local hospital and for many nursing homes in the surrounding counties. She was a faithful member of the first Presbyterian Church, a lifetime member of the Euterpean Club, and a member of the Junior Delphian Club. She enjoyed the Dallas Opera, traveling to 6 of the 7 continents, and singing in the church choir.

She married Charles Sargent Caldewell on November 27, 1954. They had four sons; Sargent, William, and Alan, all three of Mt. Pleasant and Myles of Fruitvale, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by two sisters; Evelyn Long and Marie Hargrove, her four sons, eight grandchildren and one great grandson. A viewing and graveside service will be held at the Green Hill Cemetery starting at 10:30 a.m. on Friday January 13. A memorial service will be held in the First Presbyterian Church, Mt. Pleasant at 1 p.m. followed by visitation in the Fellowship Hall.
