James Miner

Dr. James Miner, age 93, of Pittsburg passed away on May 12, 2022 at his home in Pittsburg. He was born June 11, 1928 to Jesse Davis Miner and Vera Vesta Hyde Miner in Waldo, Arkansas.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg, and was retired from Pilgrims Pride where he worked as a Poultry Nutritionist.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Miner of Pittsburg; children, Davey Miner and wife Rachel of Pittsburg, Danny Miner and wife Jan of Pittsburg, Nancy Couch and husband Vee of Pittsburg, and Lynn Thomas and husband Stan of Addison; grandchildren, Meredith Petit, Reid Scoggins, Garrett Scoggins, Luis Miner, Gloria Miner, Cassie Weeks, Alex Rojas, Chelsy McCormick, Cari Lankford, Miranda Miner, Travis Miner, Rebecca Miner; and ten great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Ruth Fallin of Stamps, Arkansas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Arthur Davis Miner.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg with Bro. Joel Davis officiating. Private interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg. Pallbearers will be, Billy Taylor, Ken Pilgrim, Tom Kilburn, Mike Derrick, Thomas Cravey, Robert Barnwell, James Sewell, Tommy Godwin, Boyd Clary, Jeff Efurd, Neal O’Quinn, Terry Waldrep, Travis Ciganero, and Don Dehmlow. There will be a visitation held before the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the church.
