Vance George Jacobs, 86 of Wauseon, Ohio and Pittsburg, Texas was born August 12, 1934 in Ottawa Lake, Mi. and passed away unexpectedly on December 20, 2020. He passed away in the Shreveport VA Medical Center due to covid pneumonia.

Mr. Jacobs enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1955, upon discharge he became a self-employed entrepreneur through-out his accomplished life. His engineering mind never left him short of coming up with the next great challenge from owning a furniture store and teaching upholstery classes at the local community college to construction and building geodesic dome homes. In 1985 upon starting Northwestern Ohio Foam Packaging he had the pleasure of insulating the electronic compartment of the space shuttle.

He is survived by daughters, Jovanna Almguist and husband Curtis, Julie Douglas, Jacqueline Harris and husband Wayne, and Kimberly Rose; brother Lyle Jacobs and wife Fay; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Josephine Dressler and Fred Jacobs; Son Scott Jody Jacobs and brothers Delbert Jacobs and Kenneth Jacobs; sisters Janet Anders, JoAnn Wobser, and Jean Smith; and son-in-law William “Bill” Douglas.

The family held a private graveside service on December 22, 2020 at Macedonia Cemetery.
