HOBGOOD

Donald Davis Hobgood, Sr., 88, was born November 7, 1932 in Addran, Texas to George and Lilly Davis Hobgood and went to the Lord December 18, 2020 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.

Donald served his country in the United States Ai Force. After his service he was a painter and started a PeeWee football organization in Oak Cliff, Texas, the Oak Cliff Chiefs. He was called the “Big Chief ” by his players, many of them went on to play college and NFL football. He also worked for the Boys Club of America. He later worked for Pilgrims Pride until his retirement. He will be missed by all.

Donald is survived by his daughter Lisa Myers of Pittsburg; son Donald Hobgood and his wife Brigit of Germany and son Herbert Hobgood of North Carolina; step daughters, Leslie Brooks and Angel Moore; 20 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Anna Twilla; sister Mildred Ficky; Brothers James Hobgood and Raymond Hobgood.

Mr. Hobgood will be interred at the Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
