Gary Joseph Cogswell

We are sad to announce the passing of Gary Joseph Cogswell of Pittsburg, Texas.

Born in Fort Benning, Georgia on July 14, 1979, he died at age 43 in Tyler November 5, 2022.

He is preceded in death by his father James Paul Cogswell and Uncle Frank, Uncle Ronnie.

Joe passed away in the presence of his wife Peggy Cogswell after a long battle with cancer and pneumonia.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Peggy Cogswell; his children Autumn, Austin, Joseph, and Skyler Cogswell; Mother, Tami Davis; stepfather Allen Davis; brothers Troy, and Jon Cogswell and wife Sabrina; grandmother Lucy Stanaker; Aunt Kathi Hunkins; stepdaughter Hannah Wade and grandson Junior; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Joe loved to work and provide for his family. He never met a stranger and loved everyone. He was always there to lend a helping hand.

Funeral services will be held November 19 at 11 a.m. at Barbwire Halo Church in Gilmer with Celebration of Life to follow. Brother Perry Shirley will be officiating.
