Dustin Craig Mercer

Dustin Craig Mercer was born July 29, 1988, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and passed away on December 19, 2022, at his home in Gladewater, Texas.

He was a 2006 graduate of Pittsburg High School and a welder. Dustin was of the Baptist faith. He loved to fish, hunt, go mudding, and ride around listening to loud music with Dallas and his best friend/son, Kollin.

He is survived by his sons, Kollin Mac Mercer and Dustin Craig Mercer, Jr.; mother, Sherry Bradshaw Holmes and husband Jerry of Pittsburg; father, Craig Mercer and wife Kimberly of Pittsburg; brothers, Michael Mercer of Naples, Logan Wittebort, Trent Wittebort and wife Alli, and Mason Reynolds all of Pittsburg; sisters, Heather Hampton and husband Briceson, of Pittsburg, and Amanda Mercer of Bullard. He is also survived by his grandparents, James and LaNell Bradshaw of Pittsburg, Raymond and Mary Mercer of Pittsburg, Warren and Margaret Smith of Gilmer, and Glen and Gladys Reynolds of Pittsburg; aunts and uncles, Paula and Tim Bond of Pensacola, Florida, Lori and Alan Hodges of Holcomb, Mississippi, Paul and Jeanette Mercer of Pittsburg, and Scott and Carolyn Holmes of Magnolia, Texas. His niece Paisley Hampton, and her soon-to-be brother or sister, were special to his heart. He is also survived by nieces Kinzlee Wittebort, Eden Wittebort and Ivy Wittebort, nephew Levi Wittebort, and numerous cousins and friends, and his beloved dog, Dallas.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Barbara Bradshaw.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 23, 2022, at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Macedonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends between 9:00-10:00 A.M. prior to the service. Pastor Kyle Smith will be officiating, and the pallbearers will be Eric Strube, Lonnie Hicks, Michael Mercer, Logan Wittebort, Trent Wittebort, and Mason Reynolds.
