June Burrus, 89, a longtime resident of Dallas, Texas, and, in recent years, Forney and Midland, Texas, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 7, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch funeral home in Midland, Texas. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 8, at 2:00 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel with her son-in-law, David Hill, officiating and her grandson, Aaron Hill, providing music. Live stream of the service will be available at www.npwelch.com. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 10, at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg, Texas.

June was born June 24, 1931, to Eddie Mae (Carpenter) and Kay Jay Parker in Pittsburg, Texas. June attended business school in Tyler, Texas, where she met and later married George Burrus on August 8, 1952. As a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker, she faithfully served her family, her friends, and her Lord throughout her life. She and George were longtime members of Casa View Baptist Church in Dallas and later members of First Baptist Church Forney. At the time of her passing, they were members of Northside Baptist Church of Odessa, Texas.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, George Burrus, of Midland, daughter, Linda Hill and husband David of Midland, son, Scott Burrus and wife Kristi of Forney, and son-in-law, Michael Weaver, of Pittsburg, Texas. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Melody Weaver. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Rebecca Hill, Aaron Hill and wife Chelsea, Meredith Weaver, Matthew Weaver, Savannah Burrus, Frances Burrus, Greyson Burrus, and Amyah Burrus, as well as a great grandson, Oliver Aaron Hill, and great granddaughter, Harper June Hill on the way. Her survivors also include her sister, Wanda Browder, of Dallas, an aunt, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory.
