BOYKIN

Graveside services for Pat Boykin, 61, of Mount Pleasant will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg, with Bro. Mark Young officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home in Pittsburg, TX. Mrs. Boykin passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at MD Anderson Center in Houston, TX after a hard fight with a rare form of cancer. Even through her battle, Pat never lost her sense of humor, wonder, or joy in the small things.

Pat was born July 19, 1959 in Pittsburg, TX to Homer Jr. and Martha Hill Porter. She traveled the world with her family and experienced places such as Malaysia, New Zealand, even graduating from High School in Tehran, Iran. Her home-base, however, was always with her Nanny, Gerry Hill, and her sisters, in Pittsburg TX. It was here, that at the age of 15, she met and fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Randy Boykin, and they have been together ever since. Her greatest joy and what she would always say was her life’s purpose, was raising her family, loving her children, and spoiling her grandsons.

Mrs. Boykin, although only having two children of her own, adopted many, many kids as an employee for Pittsburg ISD for over a decade. To this day, she still has former students that call her “Mom.” She then began working for Pilgrim Bank and then at Region 8 Education Service Center, where she formed a sisterhood of friends that loved, lived, and helped each other through life… They meant the world to her.

She is preceded in death by Homer Sr. and Bessie Porter, Gerry Hill, aka “Nanny,” her cousin, Randy Hill, otherwise known as “Little Randy” and her mother, Martha Porter. She is survived by her husband, Randy Boykin; son, Bryan and wife, Lacey Faires Boykin of Honolulu, Hawaii; daughter, Sabrina Boykin Vaseleck and husband, Brian of Mt. Pleasant; her two sisters, Liz Hobbs and Julie Ramey; and her precious grandsons, Alex Vaseleck, Ephram Vaseleck and Aiden Boykin, whom she loved so very much.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Boykin, Brian Vaseleck, Alex Vaseleck, Ephram Vaseleck, Aiden Boykin, Rick Hobbs, J.D. Thompson and Richard “Rolo” Ramey

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg.
