Bass

Mr. David C. Bass, age 66 of Mineola, died on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on August 15, 1952 in Gilmer, Texas to Billy and Codell Bass.

David was a coach and teacher for 39 years and received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Texas A&M Commerce. He helped start the Rains ISD Fishing Team and was a member of Northside Church in Mineola.

He was preceded in death by father, Billy Bass. He is survived by his mother, Codell Bass of Mineola; loving wife, Vinnie Sue Bass of Mineola; sons, David Bass Jr. of Edom, Joe Bass and his wife Breanna of Amarillo and Garrett Bass and his wife, Madeline of Emory; daughters, Shawna Blalock and her husband Kevin of Mineola and Natalie Turlington of Longview; brothers, Bill Bass of Tyler and John Bass of Gilmer; sisters, Zelma Bass of Luling and Mary Ledbetter of Gilmer and three grandchildren, Adam Blalock, Austin Blalock and Carson Bass.

Funeral Services were held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Sand Springs Baptist Church 3208 CR 2330 in Mineola, Texas at 2 p.m. with Rev. Steve Prestridge officiating. Interment followed at Sand Springs Cemetery in Mineola, with David Bass, Jr., Joe Bass, Garrett Bass, Tommy Clemments, Ryan Lane, Bill Bass, Adam Blalock serving as pallbearers.
