Gov. Abbott signs female reproductive care bill

On June 4, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed into law HB428, a bill which provides coverage for all women across the state to receive ovarian cancer screenings, regardless of any financial statuses or typical barriers faced by women in Texas.

“Early detection is the best tool we have to protect women from ovarian cancer. I signed HB428 into law to ensure that any TX woman will have access to the tests they need for early detection of ovarian cancer,” said Gov. Abbott.

Sponsoring this bill were Representatives Ken King, Jeff Leach, Kyle Kacal, Ryan Guillen, Penny Morales Shaw, Christina Morales, Terry Canales, and Erin Zwiener, along with Senator Judith Zaffirini.
